Gran Canaria does two holidays at once. The south has Maspalomas' dunes, Playa del Inglés and the calm bays around Puerto de Mogán, while the interior climbs to Roque Nublo and Pico de las Nieves for views above the clouds.
Seven days gives you time for both, plus the old town of Las Palmas and the island's aquarium. Maspalomas is the easiest base for a first visit.
