Weserbergland

The Weserbergland is where the Brothers Grimm collected their stories, and the landscape still reads that way: Hämelschenburg, Bückeburg, Schloss Pyrmont, the Externsteine and the cliffs above the Weser.

Five days is the right length to see it without rushing, mixing castles with the thermal spas of the region. The castle hotels I stayed in are reviewed below.
