Klaipėda is the Baltic city most travellers skip, and it is worth two or three days: the Fachwerk old town, Theatre Square, the Meridianas sailing ship and the ferry across to the Curonian Spit for dunes and pine forest.
It is an easy city to walk, cheap by western European standards, and the ferry to the spit leaves right from the centre. The two hotels I recommend are both in town.
