Boutique hotel Anno 1910 is ideally located in the charming Old Town district of Wernigerode, placing guests within walking distance of the city’s main attractions. Nearby highlights include the historic Wernigerode Town Hall, Westerntorturm, the seasonal Wintermarkt, the Natural History Harzmuseum, the picturesque old town center, and the impressive Wernigerode Castle.

The hotel offers spacious and modern rooms of approximately 30 square meters, providing plenty of comfort and room to relax. All rooms are equipped with: flat screen TV, private bathroom with shower (no bathtub) and a complimentary WiFi.

Boutique hotel Anno 1910 offers as well different sport activities with additional charge, in order to keep you busy, by exploring the area. Some of the sports activities are: Bike tours, walking tours, fishing, hiking, horse riding.

There are also many other activities that the hotel offers with additional charge such as: Themed dinner nights, Tour or class about local culture, Temporary art galleries and so on.

Guests traveling from Berlin can reach the hotel in approximately 3 hours by car. Alternatively, the high speed ICE train from Berlin Südkreuz takes around 3 hours as well. For a more budget friendly option, FlixBus connections are available, with a travel time of approximately 6.5 hours.

From Hannover, the journey is much shorter and takes about 1.5 hours by car. Regional trains from Hannover Central Station (Hannover HBF) reach Wernigerode in approximately 2 to 3 hours, depending on the connection.

A car is not essential for your stay, as public transportation in the Harz region is reliable and frequent. However, having a car provides additional flexibility, especially if you plan to explore multiple destinations across the Harz Mountains.

Things to Consider

– Please note that boutique hotel Anno 1910 does not have an elevator.

– Pets are not allowed.

– The hotel does not have a spa area.

– A minimum stay of two nights may apply when booking.

– Air conditioning is generally not necessary due to Germany’s moderate climate, particularly in the Harz Mountains where temperatures are usually cooler. Heating is provided during colder seasons.

– During warmer months, if you prefer to sleep with the window open, you may wish to bring earplugs, as some outside noise can occasionally be heard.

Transparency note: I visited this hotel in person and combined my review with additional research, but did not stay overnight.
