Hotel Am Jaegertor - Review
Hotel Am Jägertor - Hotel Overview

Distance From Berlin Brandenburg (BER) Airport
1 hour and 20 minutes by Regional Train
Hotel Am Jägertor is an elegant boutique hotel located in the heart of Potsdam’s historic city center, directly next to the New Gate (Neues Tor) and the Jägertor Gate. Its prime location allows guests to explore many of Potsdam’s top attractions on foot, including the Russian Colony Alexandrowka and Sanssouci Palace.
The hotel is easily accessible from Berlin. Guests traveling from Berlin Airport can reach the property in approximately 1 hour and 20 minutes by regional train, while the journey from Berlin Hauptbahnhof (Central Station) takes around one hour via public transportation.
The rooms at Hotel Am Jägertor are immaculately maintained and designed to evoke the atmosphere of a historic residence, offering guests the feeling of staying in a small palace or manor house.
All rooms are equipped with air conditioning, soundproofing, flat-screen televisions, and complimentary WiFi. Room sizes range from 23 to 27 square meters, while the hotel’s suites offer 37 to 39 square meters of space. The hotel provides a high level of comfort at reasonable and competitive prices.
For travelers planning to explore the city’s highlights, you can find inspiration in my article “Things to Do in Potsdam”.
Things to Consider
– The breakfast buffet is rich and varied, but it is not included in all room rates. In good weather, breakfast can be enjoyed in the hotel’s charming garden.
– Not all rooms feature a balcony, which may be worth noting for guests who value outdoor space.
– The hotel does not offer private parking, but public parking is available nearby for a daily fee. Please note that the entrance to the public parking can be quite narrow and it is underground.
– There is no restaurant in the hotel, however you can find plenty outside.
Transparency note: I visited this hotel in person and combined my review with additional research, but did not stay overnight.
