Hyatt Ziva Madeira - Review

Hyatt Ziva Madeira is a modern resort located on the eastern side of Madeira Island, close to the town of Caniçal. The area surrounding the resort is peaceful and largely untouched, offering a quiet setting away from the island’s busier tourist centers.

While there are limited attractions within immediate walking distance, one of Madeira’s most iconic hikes, Ponta de São Lourenço, also known as the Dragon Tail, is located nearby. For most other needs, guests will find that the resort itself offers comprehensive facilities and services.

Guests arriving from Madeira Airport can reach the property in approximately 12 minutes by car. As there is no direct public transportation from the airport to the resort, renting a car is strongly recommended, especially for travelers wishing to explore the island independently. Alternatively, taxi services are readily available, and the hotel can arrange a paid shuttle service upon request.

The resort offers a variety of rooms and apartments, designed in a modern, minimalist style. Standard rooms provide approximately 29 square meters of space, while apartments offer a more spacious layout of around 59 square meters, making them ideal for families or longer stays. All accommodations are equipped with air conditioning, flat screen televisions, and complimentary WiFi, and feature private balconies with either sea views or garden views.

Hyatt Ziva Madeira provides an extensive range of amenities designed to suit guests of all ages. Facilities include a private beach area, four indoor and outdoor swimming pools, and a full service spa (with certain treatments available at an additional cost).

The resort features seven different restaurants, offering a diverse selection of cuisines, including French Mediterranean and traditional Portuguese dishes. Additional onsite entertainment includes a water park, movie nights, a kids’ club, a game room, and various leisure activities throughout the day.

Things to Consider

– This is not an adults only resort and is particularly well suited for families and groups of friends, though couples and solo travelers can also enjoy the facilities and relaxed atmosphere.

– As the resort is located outside the main city areas, having a car is highly advisable for guests who wish to explore other parts of Madeira Island.
