Elite Hotel Marina Tower Stockholm - Review
Elite Hotel Marina Tower, Spa & Resort, located in the Danviken/Saltsjöqvarn area in Stockholm, just across the water from Djurgården.

Distance From Stockholm Train Station
30 Minutes by Bus No. 53
During my trip to Stockholm, I stayed at the Elite Hotel Marina Tower, Spa & Resort, located in the Danviken/Saltsjöqvarn area, just across the water from Djurgården.
After spending several days here, I found it to be a great base for exploring Stockholm, especially if you prefer staying somewhere a little quieter and away from the busiest streets of the city centre..
One of the biggest advantages of this hotel is definitely its waterfront location. Although it isn’t directly in the heart of Stockholm, getting around was surprisingly easy. From Stockholm Central Station, you can reach the hotel by public transport in around 30 minutes, depending on connections.
More importantly, several of Stockholm’s main areas and attractions are within easy reach, including Södermalm, Djurgården, ABBA The Museum, the Viking Museum, Gröna Lund, Gamla Stan and Norrmalm.
The Elite Hotel Marina Tower has a modern and elegant Scandinavian feel, and I found the hotel very clean and well maintained.
Our room was spacious and comfortable, with everything we needed for a city break. Standard rooms vary in size, while larger rooms and suites offer considerably more space. Rooms also include free Wi-Fi and a flat-screen TV.
One thing I particularly loved about our room was the view towards Djurgården. Waking up and looking across the water was a lovely way to start the day, especially during our June visit when Stockholm had those wonderfully long summer days.
Breakfast was another highlight of our stay. It was included in our room rate, and I found the selection very good and delicious, with plenty of choice to start the day before heading out to explore Stockholm. During our stay, breakfast was served from 06:30 to 09:30 on weekdays and from 07:00 to 11:00 on weekends.
Things to Consider
– Despite the name Elite Hotel Marina Tower, Spa & Resort, we actually decided not to use the spa during our stay. Hotel guests are advised to reserve their spa time in advance, and depending on the booking and package, an additional charge can apply for spa access.
When I book somewhere marketed as a spa hotel and resort, I generally expect access to the main spa facilities to be included in the room rate, or at least clearly incorporated into the hotel experience.
– Weekday breakfast finishes relatively early.
– The rooms don’t have private balconies. Our view was beautiful, but a balcony overlooking the water would have made it even better.
– There is no hotel-owned private parking. If you are arriving by car, check the available parking options and prices beforehand.
Overall Impression:
Overall, I really enjoyed my stay at Elite Hotel Marina Tower. Our room was spacious and comfortable, we didn’t experience any particular problems during our stay, the breakfast was delicious and our view across the water towards Djurgården was beautiful.
The ferry became one of my favourite ways to get around Stockholm. There are a few things I would change; most importantly, I would prefer spa access to be included for hotel guests, but they didn’t take away from what was otherwise a very comfortable stay.
The price was also reasonable compared with some of the other Stockholm hotels I looked at, especially considering the quality, room size and waterfront location.
Transparency note: I stayed in this hotel in person and combined my review with additional research.
